Serbia and Greece are set to enter into an agreement that will see the nations promote one another to residents as possible travel destinations.
The Serbian Secretary for Tourism, Goran Petkovic, has revealed that he is currently in discussion with officials from Northern Greece about the scheme. As part of the deal Serbia would promote the Ionian Sea islands, the Peloponnese and Crete to its citizens. In return, Greece would highlight tourist destinations along the Danube River.
The joint venture is a first for the newly established Tourism Centre for the Competitiveness of the Danube, a regional initiative that aims to promote six countries located along the river: Croatia, Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Serbia and Moldova.
