Polish authorities are investing €30m in a pan-European promotional drive to bolster the country’s tourism industry.
The Polish Tourist Organisation is targeting tourists from Germany, the UK, France, Holland, Belgium, Sweden, Denmark through TV and radio ads along with trade fairs. The campaign will run for almost three years, leading up to the European Football Championships, which the country is hosting with neighbours Ukraine in June 2012.
It also hopes to take advantage of the Poland’s EU presidency and Chopin Year, which is currently celebrating the 200th year since the composer’s birth. The project is part of the “Let’s Promote Poland Together” initiative and is backed by European Union funding, which is allocated to help the development of tourism across the region.
