Bacardi names APAC regional president
20 August 2012
Global spirits company Bacardi has appointed the president of Procter & Gamble (P&G) Philippines Siddik Tetík as its new regional president of Asia-Pacific. He takes over the position from Harold Dyrvik on September 3.
Tetík brings to the role more than 25 years of consumer goods experience from a stint working in a variety of commercial and management positions at Gillette and P&G. Most recently, he was president of P&G Philippines.
Based in Hong Kong, Tetík will be responsible for the brand’s overall commercial strategy across the Asia-Pacific region, as well as the general management of the business across 19 countries including Australia, New Zealand, Greater China and India.
Tetík replaces Dyrvik, who is retiring after more than seven years leading Bacardi’s APAC operations. Dyrvik will remain with Bacardi until the end of 2012, reporting to Bacardi president and chief executive Ed Shirley on special assignment, to ensure a smooth transition.
Dyrvik joined Bacardi in 2005. Before that, he held various roles at fast-moving consumer goods companies in Asiam as well as a 20-year stint with Philip Morris International.
“Siddik is an outstanding leader and developer of people,” says Shirley. “His success in Asia is complemented by strong emerging markets experience in the Middle East, Turkey, the Balkans and Mediterranean markets. This will be of tremendous value as we look to create a step-change in our presence and growth in this critically important and strategic region.”
A former P&G executive himself, Shirley was appointed president and chief executive of Bacardi in March this year. Last month, Bacardi promoted Paolo Perego to the role of regional president of Latin America.
