25 January 2013
Ogilvy & Mather has appointed Apple’s iAd EMEA head of creative and strategy, Brian Cooper, as executive creative director.
Cooper’s remit will initially be to focus on the global Philips account, before extending to other brands within the agency. He will report to Gerry Human, who becomes chief creative officer of Ogilvy & Mather London.
Cooper joins the agency following an 18-month stint at Apple, heading up the creative for its mobile advertising platform iAd across EMEA.
Before joining Apple in September 2011, Cooper was global executive creative director at Wieden + Kennedy, leading the global Nokia account, and spent two years as creative director of Dare, working with clients including Sony Xperia and Vodafone.
During Cooper’s career, he has picked up awards for his work with Sony Ericsson, Vodafone, Mastercard, Greenpeace, the Royal Marines, Lynx and Audi.
“It’s great news for us,” says Human. “Over the years, Brian has consistently produced outstanding creative work and he has the right kind of experience to handle complex global brands.”
