Discovery Communications is a nonfiction media company which aims to empower people to explore the world around them. Networks include Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Discovery Science and Discovery HD, and these are supported by consumer and educational products and services and digital media services. In January, Discovery Networks EMEA closed its pan-regional advertising sales service to focus on the development of localised sales capabilities, networks and businesses.
In-market sales teams are now in place in 16 markets across the region. Now part of a publicly-traded company, further channel expansion and online initiatives are in the offing.
