Danish artificial intelligence (AI) media planning agency Blackwood Seven has announced the launch of a UK operation, through a partnership with local independent agency the7stars.
Blackwood Seven allows clients to use its predictive analytics and AI platform to optimise media plans – as explained in our recent interview with CEO and co-founder Carl Erik Kjærsgaard.
It expanded to the US earlier this year, and has now confirmed plan to tie up with the UK’s largest independent media agency, the7stars. The two agencies will operate as separate entities, but cooperate on select client projects and pitches.
Jenny Biggam, co-founder of the7stars, joins the board as a non-exec director, along with Nick Fox, founding partner at creative agency Atomic London, and Bob Wootton, who stepped down as director of advertising and media at ISBA in January.
The UK office will be headed up by Henrik Busch.
“We have brought together the best minds from across the media and advertising industry to help us launch in the UK, and partnered with the7stars as they share our vision of a more transparent way of planning and buying media,” said Kjærsgaard.
“At Blackwood Seven we truly believe that AI is the future for the industry, and are pleased to be finding great minds that share our vision wherever we go, and especially in the UK.”
Biggam added: “The Blackwood Seven media platform uses artificial intelligence to reinforce the transparent model that independent media agencies like the7stars have been championing for some time. With this ‘refreshed’ approach, marketers and media planners no longer need to contend with the secretive nature of our industry that has been the status quo for so many years.”
