Facebook’s Sarah Personette: ‘Gender parity throughout the industry is crucial’

During her chat Personette reveals that it is empowering to work for a company that is so sensitive to diversity, and how she wants gender parity to continue to force its way up the agenda for the industry to ensure media is a true reflection of the world.

She also talks about Facebook’s biggest marketing challenge being how to bring a portfolio of brands and products in a connected way that is simple, easy and elegant to the consumer to understand and engage with.

In this vein she also talked about the need for more work that is digital and mobile first to be showcased otherwise the industry is in danger of losing sight of what is core to its business – the consumer – and emphasised the need to push for the consumer as media’s best guide.

Other issues high on her agenda include the use of measurement and creating hyper-targeted messages to the right people at the right time and in the right place.
