British start-up iotec hopes to utilise Wright’s 30 years of experience at Omnicom Media Group, Sky and Bauer to help progress its digital marketing to the next level with machine learning algorithms and its recently launched self-serve platform.

He most recently served as director of Apple’s mobile advertising platform iAD in Europe, the Middle East, India, Africa and APAC.

“As an industry we are at a key moment of our market’s development,” commented Wright. “Digital advertising needs to focus on concerns about its efficacy and this is where new companies, such as iotec, really come into their own.

“As a home-grown start-up, iotec has excelled in delivering real insights into customer intent at every touch point, and is providing great solutions for agencies in their digital campaigns. I’m excited to come on board and help support the company in its future ambitions and show even more clients how the platform will help them.”

Wright has experience working for several start-ups, including ad network Aura Sports which was sold to BskyB in 2006 and Web TV Enterprise which was sold to Collective in 2011.

“We are delighted that Paul is joining,” said iotec chairman Steve Hyde. “His calibre, experience and capabilities are exceptional and in confirming this appointment, iotec are making a very clear statement of intent.

“Under Paul’s leadership iotec is driving forward a business that excels in identifying and understanding customer intent using sophisticated machine intelligence to provide real tangible value to clients, their agencies and media platforms alike. I very much look forward to supporting Paul in his role and to see what’s next for iotec.”

Bowman joined iotec (formerly Intelligent Optimisations or IO) in February, following nine years at the BBC where he had most recently acted as senior vice president of sales operations at BBC Advertising.
