American Eagle Outfitters seeks global AOR
04 January 2012
American Eagle Outfitters has called an agency review as the US retailer gears up for international expansion and looks to appoint its first global agency of record.
The US-based company, which has historically worked with agencies on a project basis, is looking for a single global shop to handle all its creative, media and digital duties, with a core focus on the US, Japan, Russia, China, Israel and the UAE.
The review is being handled by American Eagle’s marketing team but it is not clear which agencies have been approached. According to AdAge, a number of global agencies have been targeted for the first stage of the review, which is a request-for-proposal process.
The changes come as American Eagle has appointed longtime Levi’s executive Robert Hanson as its chief executive, succeeding Jim O’Donnell. Hanson brings to the table more than 20 years experience with Levi’s and most recently served as global president for retail, ecommerce and wholesale across the Americas, Europe and Asia.
