Robertson is leaving in order to dedicate more time to running her UK-based not-for-profit group One Young World, which she co-founded in 2010.

Robertson became chairman of Havas Group in 2006 and was promoted to her global role in September 2013. She has worked with major clients including Barclays, Reckitt Benckiser and Jaguar.

Andrew Benett, global chief executive of Havas Creative Group and Havas Worldwide, said: “Kate has an energy and enthusiasm for her work that is unparalleled. She has contributed considerable value to Havas over the past 12 years, and we greatly appreciate her efforts.

“Kate is leaving the company in the hands of a very talented team of executives, and I’m thrilled she will continue in a consulting role. I have no doubt One Young World and all the young people associated with it will benefit greatly from Kate’s additional time and attention.”

Robertson added: “I’ve had a great time at Havas with brilliant clients and wonderful employees. But One Young World has become an overwhelming passion and one that needs an enormous amount of attention.”

Robertson will continue as a consultant for Havas until the end of the year.

Last month, Havas Media Group appointed Damien Marchi as its new global head of content.
