China loves Spongebob

The return of Spongebob Squarepants to Central Television (CCTV) Kids Channel in China drew record numbers in late December.

The Nickelodeon animated series finished number-one among kids aged 4-14 according to CSM Media Research. From 25 December 2008 – 4 February 2009, 45% of the show’s audience was aged 4-14, with 25-44 year old viewers following not far behind at 33%.

Spongebob ranks first among all children/teenage programs/channels in 15 key cities in China.
