France 24 trebles Asian distribution
France 24 has broken the 10 million mark for household presence in Asia, after less than two years of development in the region.

Available in English and French, the channel has tripled its distribution levels in Asia since January 2011. Major agreements have already been concluded in Hong Kong, Thailand and India, totalling nine million subscribers. Further discussions with operators in Indonesia, Philippines, Korea and the Pacific region are also taking place.

Contracts within the hotel sector have also boosted ratings, with the channel available in 70,000 hotel rooms across the continent.

“Responding to a dynamic Asian TV market where the audience is eager for a new tone in international news, France 24 has adapted to meet operators' strategy offering the English version as 'basic' and the French channel as 'Premium',” said France 24 distribution director for Asia Pacific, Brice Bertrand. “I am proud that this has lead to sustainable growth for France 24 in the region.”
