History Channel names UK commercial director
30 March 2009
Christina Foley has been appointed commercial director at The History Channel UK.
Based in London, Foley will report to Tom Davidson, managing director, The History Channel UK.
Foley joins from Sparrowhawk International Channels (formerly Crown Media International) where she held the position of commercial director and was responsible for the full channel portfolio, including The Hallmark Channel, across a variety of European markets.
At the History Channel she will oversee the company’s on-going brand expansion throughout Europe, Africa and the Middle East.
“Christina’s experience and understanding of the industry and market make her an ideal choice to undertake this key role within our organization,” said Davidson. “As we continue to expand our brand, announcing the roll-out of further channels, as well as new format and platform developments, we are confident that she will be a valuable addition to our team.”
Foley is replacing Ian McDonough who left the company in December 2008 to join BBC Worldwide.
