IPG Mediabrands promotes Mike Cooper to global CEO role at Rapport

IPG Mediabrands has promoted Mike Cooper to head up its global out-of-home (OOH) planning and buying agency, Rapport.

Cooper, Rapport’s North America president, will add the wider role of global president and chief executive to his current duties.

Reporting to IPG Mediabrands’ chief operating officer Jim Hytner, Cooper is tasked with “maintaining the growth of Rapport’s presence” around global markets.

Former BskyB and IPM exec Cooper first joined Rapport in 2012.

“Rapport North America opened less than two years ago, yet already under [Cooper’s] leadership it has a clear path and vision,” said Hytner.

“We believe in rewarding talent and this appointment proves we’ve got the right man for the job to keep the momentum gained and to continue to make Rapport’s presence known and respected”.

Cooper added: “I’m extremely eager to build on the work that we’ve done to date and to begin to consolidate Rapport as one the biggest operators in the OOH area.

“I’m also looking forward to continuing the development of our market-ready tools that will continue to streamline OOH planning. These tools have the potential to revolutionise the process and can produce really enviable efficiencies for clients.”
