Levy’s Publicis successor to be announced by February 2017

Following the announcement of Publicis Groupe’s Q2 report earlier in the week, chief executive and chairman Maurice Lévy confirmed at the results presentation that his successor, who will be an internal candidate, will be named ahead of the group’s annual meeting in Paris in May 2017.

The announcement will be made between December 2016 and February 2017, with eyes on Publicis Worldwide chief executive officer Arthur Sadoun as a favourite.

Levy, who is not on the group’s advisory board, will not be involved in the decision making process.

Publicis Groupe, which reported overall organic growth of 2.7% in the second quarter, went through an extensive reshuffle earlier in the year, following the loss of several key accounts including Coca-Cola and Procter & Gamble in 2015.
