Programmatic trading platform Media iQ has hired ex-Starcom MediaVest Group (SMG) exec Stewart Easterbrook as chairman.

Easterbrook, formerly chief executive at SMG UK, initially joined Media iQ as a strategic advisor in September last year. He will now be responsible for helping to drive the company’s global growth plans.

Media iQ co-founder Lee Puri said: “[Easterbrook] is a media veteran and one of the best in the business. He has extensive knowledge of technology and digital marketing, which will enable Media iQ to further enhance its superior analytics and technology offering.”

Founded in 2010, Media iQ is headquartered in the UK with offices across North America, Europe and Asia. It employs over 200 staff globally.
