Time reaches deal with Apple

Magazine publisher, Time Inc has made a deal with Apple to make all its iPad editions free for print subscribers.
Subscribers to Sports Illustrated, Time and Fortune magazines are now able access the iPad editions via their apps, which are able to authenticate them as subscribers.
Time Inc’s People magazine already has a similar arrangement, but readers of most publications have had to pay separately to access the iPad version.
Among other major publishers, Time Inc is yet to agree with Apple on terms for selling subscriptions to its iPad editions, the next step beyond making them available to existing print subscribers.
Time Inc is currently searching for a new chief executive, following the departure of Jack Griffin.
