AudienceScience sets up shop in Japan

AudienceScience, the audience targeting technology company, has expanded into the Asian market with the opening of its first Tokyo office.

AudienceScience already works with clients in the Japanese market, and the new Shibuya based office will help them develop the market further. The expansion follows the acquisition of Europe–based Wunderloop, turning AudienceScience into the worldwide market leader in audience targeting technology

Xiaoming Shao, who was appointed as managing director for Asia Pacific in April, will be in charge of the new office

Yoichi Tanaka has been appointed sales director. He joins from Omniture, where he was responsible for selling optimisation solutions to strategic clients and prospects. He was previously at DoubleClick Japan where he sold its online ad-serving solutions and managed its direct sales team.

Yugo Asato has also been appointed as senior account manager, with responsibility for the training and management of all key Japanese clients.

Denise Colella, chief revenue officer at AudienceScience, said “Japan is a very important digital market for AudienceScience, where the market is truly embracing audience targeting as an important factor in online advertising.”
