MEC wins Harman’s global media biz
05 July 2012
Audio and infotainment equipment company Harman International Industries has appointed MEC as its global media agency of record, effective immediately.
Led out of MEC Global Solutions in New York, the agency will be tasked with media planning, buying, implementation and partnerships.
MEC already works with Harman in a range of international markets including China, Russia and the Netherlands. The global appointment is reflective of a restructure of Harman’s marketing practices.
Harman designs and manufactures a range of audio products including loudspeakers, receivers, multimedia products and iPod docks for the automotive, consumer and professional markets.
Harman employs approximately 13,000 people across the Americas, Europe and Asia. Its brands include AKG, Harman Kardon, Infinity, JBL, Lexicon and Mark Levinson.
“As we continue to expand the global presence of our major brands like JBL and Harman Kardon, we felt we needed a single global solution,” says Harman chief marketing officer Jeff Willard. “MEC has a proven track record with Harman in many markets around the world, and we believe this partnership will further strengthen our brands globally.”
