IHT launches new digital access package
05 October 2011
The International Herald Tribune (IHT) had implemented a new pricing structure for its smartphone and tablet apps.
Under the new IHT All Digital Access package full access to the IHT news apps for iPhone and iPad, plus access to NYTimes.com will cost $25 every four weeks and will be free to home-delivery subscribers. The IHT Smartphone App and Web package offers the IHT app for iPhone and full access to NYTimes.com for $15 every four weeks and the IHT Tablet App package enables access to its iPad app for $15 every four weeks.
All of the new packages are available at a special, introductory offer rate of $0.99 for the first four weeks.
“Given the success of The New York Times digital subscription plan and the popularity of IHT subscriptions on e-readers, it was a straightforward decision for us to follow suit and create paid packages for our apps, “said IHT publisher Stephen Dunbar-Johnson. “Our readers are highly mobile and now they can engage with our content in an elegant, convenient format whenever they want and wherever they are in the world.”
The IHT apps are updated on a daily basis with news from its hubs in Paris, Hong Kong and New York, they feature nineteen sections of international news, business, culture, sports and opinion, plus news from global.nytimes.com
