Yahoo’s board gets a facelift
08 February 2012
Four Yahoo directors are stepping down to make way for new blood at the embattled digital media company.
In a letter to shareholders, Roy Bostock, who has been the chairman of the board since 2008, said that he and board members Vyomesh Joshi, Gary Wilson and Arthur Kent would not be standing for re-election.
The board has already appointed two new directors with former chief executive of Rovi, Alfred Amoroso, and former chairman and CEO of call centre software developer, LiveOps, Maynard Webb stepping into the positions.
“We believe that this reconfigured board, with a fresh set of perspectives and diverse set of skills, will enable the company to move forward even more aggressively,” says Bostock.
Yahoo’s shuffle of its board comes less than a month after its co-founder Jerry Yang resigned from the board and relinquished all other positions within the company.
