Jet pack pilot showcases world’s most expensive billboard
11 June 2012
A man flying a jet pack around a billboard is being used as a promotion for skydiving centre Skydive Dubai and energy brand Go Fast.
Showing off what has been dubbed as the world’s most expensive billboard, the jet pack pilot will emerge from the billboard in Downtown Dubai, fly around it for approximately 20-30 seconds and then land back on the billboard. The flight will cost a minimum of $500 per second.
The billboard is placed at the entrance of the world’s tallest building, Burj Khalifa and was created by Skydive Dubai with the help of Emaar Properties PJSC, a global property developer that has been working on projects in the Emirate since 1997.
“This is an epic moment, and we are very proud to be part of it. This initiative is another example showcasing Dubai as a world leader in innovation and technology,” says Skydive Dubai chairman Nasser Al Neyadi. “The billboard came into being with a simple idea that has transformed into an exceptional event to attract a global audience."
Denver-based Go Fast first entered Dubai two years ago and has introduced Halal friendly versions of their products to the market.
"We are certain that the brand will be received very well here. We are grateful for the support of Skydive Dubai for our venture in this part of the world. With this billboard, we want the people to know that we will be here soon," says Go Fast chief executive Troy Widgery.
