Kellogg’s and United Biscuits trial new mobile coupon service
15 November 2012
Kellogg’s and United Biscuits are the first brands to trial a newly-launched brand-to-consumer cashback mobile couponing service by Shopitize.
Both brands are using the new technology to offer exclusive up to half-price deals to customers via the Shopitize platform.
The service runs on Shopitize’s promotional platform and apps which deliver exclusive deals to registered smartphone users.
A user is invited to buy the products featured in the Shopitize app and take a picture of their paper shopping receipt from within the app, which is then automatically processed and validated by Shopitize. Consumers are then rewarded by cashback via PayPal or cheque.
The couponing service has gone live to an exclusive group of more than 1,000 shoppers in the UK, who will be presented with deals for a variety of products including McVities Jaffa Cakes, Kellogg’s Special K, Crunchy Nut, Coco Pops, Pringles and Special K cereal bars.
“Mobile technology is becoming more and more integrated into our everyday lives, and Shopitize is the first mobile couponing system we have seen that operates right across the retail trade,” says Kellogg’s UK brand experience and digital controller Sam Blunt. “Kellogg’s aims wherever possible to embrace and support innovation that could enhance the shopper experience and Shopitize has the potential to do just that.”
