Gekko brings personalised travel booking to Facebook

Gekko, the international hotel booking service, has unveiled a Facebook app that allows users to exchange travel information and tips with their friends.

The Gekko Facebook app collects and organises travel recommendations from friends; features a one-click ‘Request-a-Deal’ button, which gives hotels, bars and restaurants the option to reply directly with personalised offers; allows Facebook-only deals, which can target travellers based on their tastes; and lets users seek out the best available price.

“Consumers get the best price and are offered highly personalised deals by hotels worldwide and by restaurants, clubs and bars,” said Gekko’s chief executive, Michel Cassius. “And with our full Facebook integration, we add the social layer to the booking process, making it both engaging and fun.”

Gekko has partnerships with Expedia, TripAdvisor, Hotels.com and Lastminute.com.
