Spotify brings music to Facebook
23 September 2011
Music streaming service Spotify has teamed up with Facebook to offer music to users via the social network.
Spotify, which launched in the US in July, will be integrated into Facebook via play buttons and music posts appearing on a user’s newsfeed. A new Music Dashboard and real-time ticker will enable users to see music that is trending with friends.
“We knew that the service had to be free to draw people away from piracy,” said Spotify in a blog post. “To do that, we also knew that the service would have to be inherently social. There couldn’t be a better place to do this than Facebook.”
