LG recruits 'Little Psy' for new online campaign
23 November 2012
LG Electronics is extending its ‘Life’s Good’ campaign with the launch of a new online social networking campaign, in a bid to enhance consumer engagement with the brand.
With the campaign, LG is inviting fans to create a personalised music video using their own names and photos, which can then be shared with friends across social networks.
The campaign features South Korean seven-year old dance prodigy Min-woo Hwang, aka ‘Little Psy’, who became famous after featuring in Psy’s hit music video Gangnam Style, which holds the Guinness World Record for the most-liked YouTube video. The campaign also features Canadian pop/rock band The Moffatts.
“With the world’s economy still in distress and global consumer confidence showing little signs of improving, we felt it was the best time to help lift people’s spirits as we enter the holiday season,” says LG Electronics global marketing officer K.W. Kim.
“LG developed this campaign as a unique way to engage and interact with consumers with a message that’s consistent with our ‘Life’s Good’ philosophy,” adds Kim. “By combining online technology with social networking, we’re giving fans the opportunity to create fun content that they can share with friends and family.”
LG’s previous online campaign, ‘Mission 3D’ surpassed 16 million video views on YouTube.
