Oliver Stone to judge Vzaar online video festival

Online video hosting platform, Vzaar has launched its online video festival, with guest judge Oliver Stone.

Hollywood director Stone, one of Vzaar’s major shareholders, will review and shortlist entries in various categories including ‘Best Product/Service Video’, ‘Best Video by a Creative Agency’ and ‘Best Video by a Non-profit Organisation’. The best entry across all categories will win the ‘Best Online Video 2011 Award’.

Each winning video will feature on the Vzaar website. The competition is open to media and communications companies, marketing agencies, e-commerce businesses or a non-profit organisation.

“We’ll be on the lookout for outstanding style, original ideas and, above all, the best example of video being used to its maximum potential for commercial ends,” said Ken Moss, chairman and founder, Vzaar. “We are seeing an online video explosion happening at the moment, particularly in the business and advertising sector. We decided to hold a festival to showcase the best of these.”
