Dominic Proctor moves up to GroupM president role

Mindshare Worldwide chief executive Dominic Proctor is set to take on the new role of president of GroupM.

Proctor, who is currently CEO of Mindshare Worldwide will be replaced by Nick Emery who currently leads worldwide strategy, client service and product development for Mindshare globally and is also the chief strategy officer for GroupM worldwide. The restructure will now see Emery focus solely on Mindshare and its clients.

“We’re confident that our clients and staff will prosper as a consequence of these changes - our rate of growth and the complexity of our business require that we constantly evolve,” says Emery.

In addition, GroupM global CEO Irwin Gotlieb is moving to the position of chairman of GroupM to focus on the overall strategic direction of GroupM.

Proctor will oversee the management of GroupM’s agencies worldwide, which in addition to Mindshare includes Maxus, MEC, and MediaCom. GroupM’s regional heads, as well as the CEOs of the company’s four major media agencies, will report to him.

“These changes represent a logical and important progression for us, and we’re confident that our clients and staff will prosper as a consequence,” said Gotlieb. “Media investment management sits at the crossroads of media, data and technology and we must be positioned to capture the significant opportunities that are on the horizon.”
