Mediacom has appointed Fernando Emilio Silva as its chief executive for Latin America, filling the role left vacant since Mariano Roman left the company in July 2011.

Silva joins from Vivaki, where he served as chairman for Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean. Prior to that, he was managing director for OMD International LatAm.

In his new role, Silva will lead a team across five offices in the region. His remit will be to lead the growth of Mediacom across Latin America, helping Latin American brands on a local and global scale, as well as assisting global brands with their growth across Latin American markets.

He will work closely with Annetta Cembrano, chief operating officer, Mediacom LatAm and CEO, Mediacom Chile, who has been heading up the region since Roman’s departure, alongside GroupM LatAm CEO David Byles.

“Fernando has an exceptional track record of delivering fantastic client service and growing agencies across the region,” says Mediacom Worldwide CEO and chairman Stephen Allan. “I am delighted that he is joining our team and know that he is the ideal fit for Mediacom LatAm.”
