MPG Media Contacts poaches Zenith’s Habib
27 January 2012
MPG Media Contacts has poached ZenithOptimedia’s head of strategy Hamid Habib to head up its Catalyst unit as managing partner.
In his new role Habib will spearhead the 30-strong Catalyst unit, which is a team made up of researchers, strategists, analysts and idea facilitation experts.
The Catalyst unit is one of three teams that formed as part of MPG Media Contacts’ business restructure to focus on its ‘meaningful brands’ philosophy.
Habib began his career in PR before moving to Nickelodeon as senior brand manager. His stint at ZenithOptimedia spanned six years, where he worked with clients O2, Toyota and L’Oréal.
“Hamid’s appointment shows how serious MPG Media Contacts is about investing in our products and services to become the sort of modern media business our clients need to steer them through the complex media landscape in the coming decade,” says MPG Media Contacts chief executive Marc Mendoza. “We loved Hamid’s energy and creativity and see him as a key lynchpin to drive this agenda forward.”
