Pepsi inks year-long partnership with Twitter
30 May 2012
Pepsi has struck a year-long partnership with microblogging site Twitter in the US as part of the beverage brand's ‘Live for Now’ global campaign.
The agreement will allow Pepsi to provide its followers with streaming videos of live music concerts that it will be running around the US, beginning in June. The deal marks the longest partnership Twitter has ever made with a brand.
Pepsi will also use Twitter to aggregate trending music topics into a short weekly video embedded onto Pepsi’s Twitter page each Wednesday. Free music downloads will also be given out through the Pepsi Twitter account as part of the campaign.
The artists involved in the ‘Live for Now’ campaign have not yet been confirmed by Pepsi.
The
‘Live for Now’ campaign launched at the end of April. The drinks giant also entered into an agreement with the
estate of Michael Jackson to use the late singer’s image on a limited edition range of cans, as part of its campaign activity.
