International Herald Tribune goes mobile
30 November 2010
The International Herald Tribune has launched its first news application for the iPad and iPhone.
The apps are the first to use the New York Times’ specially created technology and design solution platform Press Engine.
Users will be able to view the latest news, including World news, business with Reuters, culture and style, sport and views sections, as well as day in pictures slideshow and international video content features. The apps will be available for free until early 2011 but will require registration.
“Now our well-travelled and sophisticated audience can enjoy the IHT’s fresh and original take on the world’s daily news combined with the elegance and interactivity of the iPad or iPhone. This is great news for readers and advertisers alike and is further proof of our commitment to making the IHT’s unique brand of global journalism available wherever our readers are and however they want it,” said Stephen Dunbar-Johnson, publisher of the IHT.
