OMD was the most awarded media agency in the world in 2015, according to the Gunn Report for Media 2015, with Coca-Cola recognised as the most awarded advertiser.
The US emerged as the most awarded country in media in 2015, closely followed by the UK and India respectively.
Several campaigns were also listed as “outstanding”, including Always #LikeAGirl and Oreo’s ‘The Oreo Eclipse’.
The Gunn Report for Media editor Isabelle Musnik felt the report proved that more than ever media innovation and creativity are key to brand success.
“Creativity and media are not mutually exclusive or even in competition – they interact with each other,” Musnik added. “While technology and data are fundamental to achieving results, it is insight, strategy and ideas that are essential to delivering them.”
Isabelle went on to day that media creativity is an effective and universal tool for brands to speak to consumers and to attain a brand’s objectives by standing out in a crowded field of competitors.
“They have to blend technology, media and content to create a live brand experience that is easily accessible,” she added.
OMD was named Agency Network of the Year at last year’s Festival of Media Global Awards.
