Mukherjee was credited with playing a major role in PepsiCo’s brand strategy, helping the company’s Frito-Lay department with big events like the Super Bowl through her strong traditional marketing and social media skillset.

She is reportedly joining SC Johnson in the autumn, following in the footsteps of previous PepsiCo global marketing chief, Salmon Amin. This appointment comes amid agency reshuffles like consolidation media planning and buying at Omnicom’s PHD and using Omnicom shop TracyLocke for shopper marketing.

PepsiCo North American beverage operations CMO Simon Lowden is reported to be taking over Mukherjee’s position, with senior vice president Seth Kaufman filling Lowden’s role.

Mukherjee started her career at PepsiCo in Frito-Lay’s convenience foods division in 2005 where she was in charge of leading marketing, new product innovation, consumer insights and strategy and for all Quaker branded snacking.

Before that, she worked in brand management and marketing at Kraft and Citibank.
