OMG has appointed Southeast Asia chief operating officer Ranga Somanathan to look after OMD and PHD procedures in Malaysia and Singapore as chief executive officer.

Somanathan, who also previously headed Starcom Mediavest Group’s global network clients, will work alongside the senior management team in the region and report to Omnicom Media Group Southeast Asia and India chief executive Jasmin Sohrabji.

“The realignment of leadership under a single leader reflects the common synergies of Singapore and Malaysia,” said Sohrabji. “Ranga wil ensure we continue to deliver our objective of being the very best we can across all our operations.”

The appointment replaces Song Wong in Singaport and Andrew Vogiatzakis in Malaysia.

This news comes after the promotion of Jon Ghazi to chief executive officer of Annalect EMEA.
