M&M Global chatted to Mobsta strategy director George Dixon about the big stories of the week including Google’s foray into programmatic TV ads, European election fever and Gorillaz’ new colour sensitive AR app.
On Google’s programmatic TV ads: “We’ve seen out of home moving that way anyway. I think as agencies and brands want to have more control and look at things like the incremental reach that VOD is giving them versus TV, it’s a natural evolution.”
On Gorillaz’ AR app: “Customers and consumers want to get more from their content, make it discoverable .”
On Snapchat’s new Geofilters: “There’s nothing more frustrating for a consumer than seeing a product that’s not relevant to them or they can’t even buy, for example seeing a Lynx advert when it’s a different brand in another market would be fairly irrelevant, so it adds relevance and makes things more interesting for the consumer.”
