Twitter appoints Guilherme Ribenboim as LatAm boss

Twitter is expanding its presence in Latin America, and has appointed its Brazil office chief Guilherme Ribenboim to run the region.

Former Yahoo veteran Ribenboim, the current president of IAB Brazil, first joined Twitter as general director of its Sao Paulo-based Brazilian operation in 2012. Prior to this, he spent a year as chief executive at ecommerce business Clickon.

He now takes up the role of VP Latin America, where he will oversee Twitter’s teams in Mexico, Colombia and Brazil, as well as a soon-to-open office in Miami.

Latin American was previously overseen by Twitter’s head of international operations Shailesh Rao, who held the title vice president, Asia Pacific, Latin America and Emerging Markets.

Other changes include the appointment of Matthew Drinkwater, previously Twitter Brazil’s head of online sales, as agencies relations director for the LatAm region, while Brazil market development head Carlos Moreira Jr becomes Latin America media director.

The restructure will reportedly have no impact upon Twitter’s ad sales relationship with Latin American firm IMS.

Last week, Twitter promoted its UK boss Bruce Daisley to the top role across Europe.
