The agency leads the way following global account wins such as GoPro and Tourism Australia, Sony Pictures in North America, Sony Electronics in the US and China and General Mills in China.

Omnicom Media Group’s PHD and new network Hearts & Science are ranked in second and third places respectively, and described as “Ascending”.

Zenith, Carat, Vizeum and Maxus fill the next spots, referred to as “Positive”, while RECMA describes Initiative, MEC, MediaCom, OMD and Havas Media as “Stable”. Mindshare and Starcom are placed at the bottom of the ranking in the “Under-performing” section.

RECMA measures agency performances based on global, regional and local accounts involving the world’s top 150 advertisers.

PHD topped RECMA’s ‘Major Wins’ report, based on new business wins globally and across regions between January and September, after securing business from Volkswagen, Carnival, Delta, Old Navy and Mailchimp.

“I could not be more proud. Our continued success is directly tied to the strength of our moments-based approach to planning, which we unveiled last year, and our unwavering belief that better science and better art delivers better outcomes,” said UM chief executive Daryl Lee.

“This is a fundamental offering at UM, and it’s exciting to see how well it’s resonating with our clients around the world.”

Last week, IPG Mediabrands was named Network Agency of the Year at the Festival of Media LatAm Awards 2016.

IPG Mediabrands’ success was underlined with wins for Initiative offices in Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Peru, Uruguay, El Salvador, and UM Mexico, Argentina and Puerto Rico across 11 client brands.
