DHL has consolidated its European media business into MEC, reportedly following a final pitch against Dentsu Aegis Network agency Carat.
The logistics brand has used GroupM agency MEC in other global markets for over a decade, and has now extended that relationship to 28 further markets across EMEA.
The new account will be led from MEC’s Global Solutions office in Dusseldorf, Germany.
DHL will be able to “better optimise” its planning, steering and monitoring processes, as well as improving its “buying conditions” across TV, print, radio, outdoor and digital, said Arjan Sissing, senior vice president corporate brand marketing at DHL.
Dirk Ude, head of global advertising at DHL, added: “MEC is an established and long-standing partner of DHL and a most trusted advisor on effective brand communications globally. The agency has proven their expertise at a very high level continuously for many years and we hope to leverage their strength in quality and quantity by reinforcing our partnership.”
“We are delighted to have been selected by DHL in Europe,” said Alastair Aird, MEC’s global chief operating officer and EMEA chairman. “With this expansion of our relationship we look forward to driving real business growth for the company, across all areas of their communication.”
