MediaCom has announced the promotion of Jon Gittings from his previous post of global business development strategy officer to the new role of chief strategy officer for the Americas.
Gittings will oversee strategic product and output for existing and prospective clients across North and Latin America, giving the region strong and connected leadership and playing an important role in how the company develops its Systems thinking philosophy.
He has worked for MediaCom since 2014 on a range of pitches including AB InBev, Sony, Coca-Cola and Mars, directly contributing $3bn of new business billings.
“I’m thrilled to be taking on this new and exciting role for MediaCom,” said Gittings. “The massive growth in our network across both North and Latin America has created the opportunity for enhanced strategic leadership to ensure that we are always identifying the best possible approach for our clients.
“By applying more of our unique systems thinking perspective across our strategic output in the region, we will continue to push and deliver the most effective solutions for our clients.”
Gittings will remain based in New York and will report to MediaCom global chief strategy officer Matthew Mee and worldwide chief operating officer Toby Jenner.
“Jon’s expanded role is in clear recognition of the phenomenal contribution he has made to the network’s success over the past two years,” said Jenner. “His two decades of media experience, coupled with his relentless curiosity and desire to solve problems, makes him the ideal strategic partner for both current and prospective clients as we jointly navigate the complexity of today’s media landscape.”
