Müller promotes UK marketer Michael Inpong to global CMO role

Müller has promoted its lead UK marketer Michael Inpong to the role of global CMO, as the FMCG firm looks to revitalise sales around the world.

Inpong, who joined Müller in 2012, will become chief marketing officer for Unternehmensgruppe Theo Müller, the yoghurt-maker’s parent company. He will also will remain in charge of UK and Ireland marketing as part of his expanded brief.

The former Procter & Gamble and L’Oréal marketer previously spent five years as marketing director for the chilled dairy division of Nestle and Lactalis’ joint venture, overseeing brands including Munch Bunch, Ski and Nesquik.

Inpong is viewed as having played an “instrumental” role in the revival of UK and Ireland sales of Müller products such as Müller Corner, Müllerlight and Müller Rice, and the company hopes he will be able to repeat the trick in other markets.

He has also overhauled the brand’s advertising, overseeing the creation of new ad campaigns starring Pussycat Dolls singer Nicole Scherzinger.
