In his role, Bunch will be responsible for leading demand side operations, supporting audience buying, optimisation, reporting, analytics and campaign planning tools.

He previously served as chief technology officer at ad technology platform iSocket, prior to its acquisition by the Rubicon Project. He has also held senior positions at AppNexus where his responsibilities included defining and growing the company’s agency and marketer business, helping build out the company’s mobile products business and helping advertisers to maximise their digital spend.

Bunch has also served as chief solutions officer at digital media holding company CPXi and as senior vice president, strategic technology at Warner Music Group.

“Karl brings an impeccable understanding of the intricacies of the demand side business and the programmatic industry in general,” said Mark Grether, global chief operating officer of Xaxis. “He will play a key role in extending the capabilities and reach of the Xaxis platform, leading development of new technology and media products that provide advertisers with unparalleled capability for reaching their global audiences.”

Bunch said: “Xaxis continues to define the programmatic industry with technologies such as its Turbine DMP and its leadership in guaranteeing one hundred percent viewability for advertiser campaigns.

“No other company offers advertisers the same combination of massive, global scale with proprietary technology expertise and exclusive access to some of the world’s most valuable inventory. I look forward to leading our efforts as we continue to develop new, audience-focused demand side products that enhance the ability of brands to maximize their digital efforts.”

Bunch will report to global chief operating officer Grether.
