MailOnline appoints Anne Shooter for native advertising push

MailOnline – the world’s most-read English language newspaper website – has appointed Anne Shooter as its new commercial editor, where she will oversee the company’s native advertising.

In this newly-created role, Shooter will work closely with MailOnline’s clients, helping them to achieve their commercial goals through native content.

Shooter said: “Native advertising is an important commercial priority for MailOnline, offering brands the extraordinary opportunity to reach its highly engaged and continually growing audience of 180 million people globally.”

Martin Clarke, publisher and editor-in-chief said: “For native advertising to truly be successful it needs to be of the highest quality that retains journalistic integrity so people genuinely want to read it.

“Having witnessed Anne’s work over many years, I am delighted that she has accepted the role of commercial editor and I have no doubt that MailOnline’s native content will both engage and entertain our readers while ensuring our advertising clients reach their target audience.”

Shooter joins MailOnline from the Daily Mail, where she has worked for the past 18 years. She most recently held the position of editor of the Mail’s Savvy Shopper column.

Shooter will take up her new immediately and will be based in London reporting to Martin Clarke.
