MediaCom has appointed Costin Mihaila and Kate Rowlinson as joint managing directors for its EMEA operation, as it looks to put “content and connections” as the heart of its business.

Mihaila joins from his role as MediaCom CEO for Central and Eastern Europe, while Rowlinson is promoted from her position as new business and marketing director for EMEA. Both will report to MediaCom’s EMEA chief executive Nick Lawson.

Costin, joined MediaCom in 2007 as EMEA client services director, will be responsible for “identifying and implementing” best practice on market integration, as well as developing new commercial opportunities.

Former Carat and PHD strategist Rowlinson, who rejoined MediaCom in 2011 after starting her career with the agency, will continue to lead new business and marketing, and manage the roll-out of MediaCom’s ‘20|20 Connections’ planning system across the region.

“I’m delighted to be able to recognise and reward the hard work that both Kate and Costin have put in over the last three years, and the success that both have brought to MediaCom,” said Lawson.

He added: “In the next few years they will play a vital role in ensuring that all our teams put content and connections at the heart of everything we do to deliver phenomenal business results for our clients.

“I’d also like to thank Euan Jarvie who leaves us at the end of the year for his 17 years of hard work at MediaCom in Scotland, the US and most recently as EMEA chief operating officer.”
