Nick Sargent appointed commercial director of Wired

The Economist Group’s Nick Sargent has been appointed to replace Rupert Turnbull as commercial director of Condé Nast title Wired.

Turnbull left earlier this month to become the new group international publisher for Time & Fortune magazines.

Nicholas Coleridge, president of Condé Nast International and managing director of Condé Nast Britain said: “This appointment recognises the many areas in whichWired operates, in both the consumer and B2B space. Nick has a proven track record in delivering omnichannel brand propositions.”

Sargent is currently head of client sales UK and energy specialist EMEA for The Economist Group, having been promoted from international account manager ofThe Economist Newspaper.

“I’m looking forward to consolidating the significant success Wired has already achieved, building on its position as the future facing media, events and consultancy business, to further maximise the potential of the brand,” said Sargent.

Nick Sargent will take up his new role in early February and will report into Albert Read, deputy managing director of Condé Nast.
