WPP acquires Mexican digital agency Clarus

Advertising giant WPP has agreed to acquire the assets of Mexican digital marketing agency Clarus Digital.

Clarus’ 2014 revenues are expected to reach $108m. Its clients include Telcel, Citi-Banamex, Aeromexico, and Sigma Alimentos.

The agency, which employs 112 people, was founded in 2009 and is based in Mexico City.

In a statement, WPP said that the acquisition demonstrates “its commitment to developing its strategic networks throughout Latin America”.

The group collectively generates revenues of $1.6bn in Latin America and £200m of that figure alone comes from Mexico.

The news follows WPP’s announcement earlier this week that its data investment management arm Kantar Media had acquired the majority interest and control in Latin American media measurement business IBOPE Media.
