Havas Sports & Entertainment appoints Pedro Avery to succeed Lucien Boyer

Havas Media Group UK group managing director and Arena Medis UK chief executive

Avery will succeed Lucien Boyer from 1 January 2016, with Boyer moving to Vivendi whilst retaining his existing roles.

“I am thrilled to become Global CEO of Havas Sports and Entertainment,” said Avery. “There has never been a better time to work with the world’s top brands to reach global audiences through sport and entertainment because digital technology means we have so many more opportunities at scale.

“Havas Sports & Entertainment already has a world-class team of more than 600 people who have a track record of delivering innovative, high-quality solutions to our clients. Everyone I have met within the network has passion and energy to do great work and I look forward to expanding our offering at this very exciting time in the development of Havas.”

Avery will be supported in his new role by a global team led by Havas Sports & Entertainment global chief strategy officer Fredda Hurwitz and managing director Jérôme de Chaunac, who has been promoted from chief operating officer.

Havas chief executive officer Yannick Bolloré added that Avery and his team will work alongside himself and the Executive Committee to foster a better integration of Havas Sports & Entertainment within the Group.

“I would like to thank Lucien for his hard work and dedication over the past 15 years and wish him all the best in his new role at Vivendi,” said Bolloré.
